If you have never worn compression socks before and just received your first pair of running socks, work socks, travel socks or recovery socks, you will have to get used to them.

Compression socks are essential for improving blood circulation and preventing tired legs. Since they fit tighter than regular socks, putting them on might take a bit of practice at first. To get the most out of your STOX compression socks, it’s important to put them on correctly. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you put them on and take care of them.

Step-by-step guide: How to put on compression socks

Step 1: Turn the sock inside out

Grab the heel of the sock from the inside and turn it inside out down to the toe. This leaves the foot section inside the sock and the leg section inverted.

Step 2: Insert your foot into the sock

Slide your foot into the foot section of the sock and make sure your heel is positioned correctly. A proper fit is essential for maximum comfort and effectiveness.

Step 3: Pull the sock up

Gently slide the inverted leg section up your leg. Avoid twisting the fabric and don’t pull too hard to prevent damage.

Step 4: Check the fit

Smooth out any wrinkles and make sure the sock fits snugly without being too tight. A smooth fit ensures optimal compression.

Taking care of your compression socks

Proper care extends the lifespan of your compression socks and maintains their effectiveness:

Washing: Hand wash or machine wash the socks at a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius. Use a delicate detergent and place them in a laundry bag.

Avoid: Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or stain removers, as these can damage the elasticity.

Drying: Lay the socks flat to dry or hang them up. Avoid using a dryer to prevent damage.

Quick-dry tip: Roll the socks in a towel and gently press out excess water. Do not wring them out.
